Phil Kinser, Chief Executive Officer

In 1986, Phil started his career with Peachtree Windows & Doors, Inc. in St. Joseph, Mo., working as the Assistant Personnel Manager. In 1988, he was hired as the Office Manager for Adams County Cooperative Electric Company in Corning. In 1996, his duties expanded to include Nyman Electric in Stanton, which had already been sharing a General Manager with Adams Co. Cooperative. The two cooperatives consolidated in January 1998 to form Southwest Iowa Service Cooperative.  On January 1, 2004, Southwest Iowa Service Cooperative consolidated with Rideta Electric Inc. located in Mount Ayr, to form Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative.  At that time, Phil was promoted to Director of Finance & Administrative Services. In September 2006, Duane Dinville, CEO, retired and Phil was promoted to CEO of Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative.

Phil and his wife Karen have been married since 1984 and have three children: Amanda, Megan and Johnathan, one granddaughter, Kinsey and one grandson, Karsen. They reside in rural Adams County, Iowa on a small farm. In his spare time, Phil likes to spend time with his family, garden, hunt and fish.

 

Tim Pfeiffer, Director of Member Services

Tim began working at Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative in 2007 as Member Services Representative. In 2016, Tim was promoted to Director of Member Services.

Tim and his wife Leigh reside in Red Oak. They have four children: Jake, Jessie, Julia, and Phil, and four grandchildren: Jayden, Deacon, Lane, and Clark.

 

Duane Schafer, Director of Operations

Duane began working for Rideta Electric Cooperative as a part-time tree sprayer in 1983. After working there for a year, he was hired as an apprentice lineman. In 1999, Duane was promoted to line superintendent for Rideta Electric Cooperative. In January, 2008, Rideta Electric Cooperative consolidated with Southwest Iowa Service Cooperative (Corning/Stanton).  Duane continued to serve as line superintendent in the Mount Ayr region until December, 2008, when he was promoted to Director of Operations.

Duane and wife Janelle have been married since 1981. They have three children: Zachary, Melissa, and Drake. They enjoy living on an acreage on the west edge of Mount Ayr.

In his spare time Duane enjoys hunting, fishing and camping at the Iowa State Fair. He also enjoys spending time with his family and gardening.

 

Ginny Eighmy, Director of Finance & Administrative Services

Ginny began her Cooperative career in 1989 when she was hired to fill the work-order clerk position at Rideta Electric Cooperative in Mount Ayr.  In 2002, she was promoted to Office Manager. In 2004, when Rideta Electric Cooperative and Southwest Iowa Service Cooperative consolidated, Ginny continued her position as Office Manager. In 2006, Ginny was promoted to Director of Finance and Administrative Services.  

Ginny and her husband, Malcolm, have been married since 1975 and live in Mount Ayr. They own Eighmy Monument Company, a fourth-generation business located in Mount Ayr. They have two children: Melissa (Eric) Friedrich and Dustin (Rebecca) Eighmy, and four grandchildren: Tatum, Alba, Morgan Friedrich and Talon Eighmy.

Besides spending time with her family, Ginny also enjoys flower gardening, motorcycling, golfing, cooking and playing the piano.
